Bittersweet is the first in a Bird Dog series featuring a "bittersweet" apple, a classification defined by high tannin and low acidity. In this release of Bittersweet, the featured apple is Ellis Bitter, an English cider variety thought to have originated in the mid 1800s. As with other bittersweets, Ellis Bitter is probably best used in blends, and in this case it is combined with American varieties Northern Spy, McIntosh, and Cortland. Store upright at cellar temp. Gluten Free.
